Lifestyle Photography

There are many locations around the Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire regions, why not think of somewhere like, Locke Park, Newmillerdam, Sandal Castle, Wentworth Castle Gardens the list is just endless.

If you are interested in a lifestyle shoot but cannot think of a location or have a particular location in mind, then contact us to discuss a shoot to suit you!!!

Where do the sessions take place?

We come to you or your favourite spot for your photo session.  Photographing children playing in their own home, backyard, at a playground or park keeps children most comfortable.  We focus on a laid back setting and wait for natural looking shots.  Keep in mind that the lighting for outside shots is normally best in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the bright mid-day sun.

This also is the same for Portraits of Couples and families outside, choose somewhere that means something to you!

How long is a session?

The Shoot is a 1-hour shoot which allows for other people to be taken, many poses/time for children to come around and also outfit changes where necessary.

How many photos do you take?

I take as many photographs as I can within the 1-hour shoot, or as long as the person is willing to be photographed. Some poses may be the same, and eyes may be closed, so these photographs will not be presented to you for choice.

Can you fix photographs?

We will make corrections in Photoshop® with the lighting, colour or background. We may also change some shots to black & white or sepia tones to give you different styles to choose from.

What to wear?

Infant photos look best when the baby is wearing only a nappy, bare skin or plain white or pastel coloured clothing.  

Family pictures look crisp when the family is wearing plain clothing or coordinating outfits. A nice look is wearing matching plain, timeless clothing like white shirts or plain polo shirts with jeans.

The main idea is to keep the focus on the subjects instead of any stripes, busy patterns or logos.

Do you have any special tips for infant sessions?

You should book your session at a time of day when your baby is usually content and fed.  Sleeping babies make beautiful photos, so naptime is also a good time. Plan to dress your infant in only a nappy or plain, white or pastel clothing, free of busy patterns.  We want the focus to stay on the baby, not the clothes.  For shots including the parents, try to have a plain white or black shirt on hand for some
special shots.  

Can we change our outfits?

We have no limit to clothing changes so feel free to go with a few different looks or let your child dress up in their ballet outfit or football shirt.

Can my session be rescheduled?

We know children can get sick and the weather does not always cooperate for planned outside shoots.  If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible.

How long do we need to wait to see the proofs?

Your DVD Slideshow will be with you within 10 working days. This means that the images are edited by batch processing and then presented onto a DVD Slideshow via the computer and special software. You can not print from this disc.

We also quote up to 10 working days for Prints and Enlargements from date of order. This is due to them being outsourced for print to give you the best quality imagery. And Each image is edited from scratch for prints.

Can I buy the images/negatives from you?

You can purchase a license to print the images off yourself, this is not a problem. Copyright and digital RAW Negatives still stay with the photographer.

What types of payment do you accept?

We Accept Cash, Cheque and Online Payments via Credit or Debit card, and PayPal.
In-Store Payment Options are Cash or Online Payment.
